Phoebe Gupton is currently working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in graphic design. She is currently in her third year at East Carolina University, and has studied typography abroad in Europe, travelling to nine cities in Germany, Italy and Switzerland in the summer of 2025. She has seen first-hand German type designer Erik Spiekermann’s genius, visited the Basel School of Design, and received feedback from the legendary Swiss graphic designer Michael Renner himself. Phoebe has since been inspired to work in a style that is predominantly minimalist, heavily inspired from the Swiss poster design she witnessed abroad. Upon being accepted into her emphasis of graphic design, Phoebe still takes great enjoyment in her art elective classes just as she does with her cores. She is skilled in drawing, taking pride in her compositional awareness through the cohesiveness of her work in graphic design. Adoring typography and brand design, she works primarily digitally in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. Phoebe dreams of working at an advertising agency as a full-time designer, and is potentially considering the path of an art director as well. Her work ethic and determination to expand her knowledge and experience in the arts is admirable, holding a current GPA of 3.6.
